What do you think is the best part of Korean culture? I think it's the delivery system 24/7.
I lived in Korea more than 20yrs but also lived overseas for several years - Phillippines, New Zealand, Ethiopia, China and so forth. In most of the countries, it wasn't easy to get food by delivery. Even when they had one, the time and options were limited.
But in Korea, you can get any kind of food by delivery 24/7. It depends on what type of food you order but it usually takes less than 40mins.
However, when you talk about food delievery system in Korea, The Fried chicken is the first one that pops up. Some people even call them Chicken God(치느님=치킨+하느님).
Side Note
- Generally, you have to order more than ₩10,000(Approx $10).
- Not all the restaurant open 24/7.
- When it's delayed and you ask them if they started delievering, they always say 'I'm on my way'.
- To get the numbers of the delivery restaurants, google it.
For example, if you just type Fried Chicken on google, restaurants will pop up.
If you want to get help on this, leave a message here!
So let me introduce you how it goes.
1. Make a call. Tell your address and the food.
(You can also use an application to order)
2. You wait for 30mins. Then they give you in this pack. You can either pay by credit card or cash. No cost difference!
2. I ordered fried chicken with half spicy and half sweet flavor.
3. It cost about ₩13,000 from the place where I live. Do you see that side dish? That's raddish. In Korea, when you order fried chicken you always get that raddish, when you order pizza, you always get pickles.
4. From the place where I ordered, you get rice cake and the ones that's decorated, those are pine nuts.
5. These are the coupons that I gathered for a year. When you order a food, they give you coupons. Except from the chinese restaurants, you can get something free with 10 coupons.
