Dakgalbi(Grilled Chicken or Stir-fried Chicken) - It's one of the popular grilled Korean dish of chicken marinated with pepper paste based sauce.
Today, I went out to hunt Korean cuisine with Logan. Logan wanted to eat dakgalbi but I didn't. So we were looking for something else but then I found the dakgalbi restaurant where they grill it. This was it!
When we recall the image of dakgalbi, people think of frying it on the iron plate. However, we tried grilled type of chicken. I prefer grilling to pan frying due to the flavor it contains when it's grilled.
Before I start writing, I want to mention that this restaurant became my top 10 dakgalbi restaurant among I tried overall.
For this restaurant, the front gate caught my eyes. We could see charcoals burning before getting in as below.
They use massive amount of charcoals. Your expection would rise from the moment you see the charcoals burning.
Tight shot of burning charcoals

As you can see in the picture, there are two people who's grilling. They grill it for you in advance. So when it comes, you only have to cook for a little while.
This is how the restaurant looks like. Just like other frenchised restaurants.
Side dishes : Seasoned sesame leaves, Bean sprout soup, Steamed Eggs, Pickled Onions, Sliced garlic, Sliced pickled raddish, spicy sauce, ssamjang
Especially, you will eat this steamed eggs a lot because of the spicy sauce that you deep it into.
We just ordered marinated dakgalbi for 2 people. This is how much you get if you order for 2 people. Ofcourse, they note for the weight on the menu.
You can't miss this grilled rice cake. Enchanting!
This is the spicy sauce that you deep the chicken. It's bit spicy but at the same time, it keeps sweetness.
So delicious! It's a rice thief!
In Korea, when the food is delicious we say it's babdoduk(밥도둑). Literally, it means rice thief. So to paraphrase it, the food that calls rice.
There are about 4 different flavors of grilled chicken so you might want to try others too.
Enjoy your meal!
